Italy

Updated 21 December 2020

Italy is banning air travel from the UK due to concerns over the new strain of coronavirus. The measures are expected to last until at least the new year. No set dates have been confirmed.

The persons who intend to enter Italy and who in the previous 14 days have stayed or transited in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain, are oblige to:

a) undergone in the 72 hours prior to entry into the national territory a molecular or antigen Covid19 test (negative proof needed)

b) in alternative, undergo a molecular or antigen test upon arrival where possible, or within 48 hours of entering the national territory; while waiting to undergo the test at the local health company of reference, people are subjected to fiduciary isolation at their home or residence;

Finally even if asymptomatic, people coming from the above listed countries are obliged to immediately communicate their own entrance into the national territory to the Prevention Department of the competent local health authority, for seamen this means to the Agent.

In the event of the presence of symptoms referable to Covid-19, the obligation remains for anyone to report this situation promptly to the Health Authority (for seamen to the Agent) and undergo a precautionary isolation.
