Boeing’s 737 Max program boss is leaving the company.
Ed Clark is departing after nearly 18 years at the plane maker amid more pressure and scrutiny from regulators after the recent door blowout.
The leadership change will help restore confidence and improve its quality and safety, Boeing says.
The Alaska Airlines incident has raised concerns about Boeing’s production line processes and quality checks.
It follows the release of the preliminary report into the incident which found bolts on the door panel were missing.
Clark was VP in charge of the program at Renton, WA producing the plane involved in the blowout incident.
Clark’s replacement is Katie Ringgold, who is currently VP of Boeing 737 delivery operations.
The management shakeup will ‘ensure every airplane we deliver meets or exceeds all quality and safety requirements”.
