IAG’s low-cost carrier Vueling is expanding its UK-Spain network with the launch of two new routes from London Heathrow to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela. The Spanish airline will commence daily direct flights on 30 March 2025, marking a 16% increase in capacity between the UK and Spain this summer.
These new Heathrow routes complement Vueling’s existing operations from London Gatwick, where the airline already offers 26 weekly flights to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela combined.
Jordi La Pla, Chief Network & Strategy Officer at Vueling, emphasized the airline’s commitment to UK-Spain connectivity:
“At Vueling, we know Brits love a getaway to Spain, so we’re excited to give them even more options to travel to two of Spain’s most exciting cities.”
Why Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela?
- Bilbao is a cultural and gastronomic hub in Spain’s Basque Country, home to the world-renowned Guggenheim Museum and a vibrant culinary scene.
- Santiago de Compostela is one of Spain’s most historic cities, famous as the final stop on the legendary Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.
The addition of Heathrow routes underscores Vueling’s commitment to providing affordable and convenient travel options between the UK and Spain.
Tickets for both new routes are now on sale, with flights set to begin in time for the summer travel season.
