Virgin Atlantic Extends Cape Town–London Heathrow Service for Easter 2026
Extended Season Brings More Seats
Virgin Atlantic will extend its Cape Town – London Heathrow service by one month in 2026, meeting strong Easter holiday demand. The seasonal service will now operate from 13 October 2025 until 19 April 2026, adding 17,000 extra passenger seats.
From 26 October 2025, flights will follow a double overnight schedule, allowing better rest and smoother onward connections through Heathrow.
- VS478 departs London Heathrow at 22:30, arriving Cape Town 12:10 the following day.
- VS479 departs Cape Town at 21:55, arriving London Heathrow 07:45 the following day.
All Cape Town flights will use the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering Upper Class, Premium, Economy Light, Classic, and Delight cabins.
Enhanced Connections to the United States
The extended schedule enables same-day onward connections from Heathrow to Virgin Atlantic’s key US destinations, including New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Orlando.
Marc Harding, Country Manager South Africa, said “The extension provides more flexibility, better timings, and demonstrates Virgin Atlantic’s long-term market commitment.”
