Virgin Atlantic Becomes First UK Airline to Launch Starlink Wi-Fi

Fleetwide Rollout Begins in 2026

Virgin Atlantic will begin installing Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi from the third quarter of 2026. The upgrade will start on Boeing 787s, Airbus A350s, and A330neos. Full fleet integration is expected by the end of 2027.

Free, Streaming-Quality Wi-Fi for Loyalty Members

Flying Club members will enjoy free, unlimited, streaming-quality Wi-Fi on all equipped aircraft. Passengers can browse, stream, game, and video call using multiple devices during their flight.

Starlink provides fast, low-latency internet using a global satellite network. It ensures reliable coverage even in remote regions and during long-haul flights.

Creating a “Home Away from Home” in the Sky

Virgin Atlantic aims to match ground-level connectivity in the air. Passengers will stay connected from boarding to landing no need to wait for cruise altitude.

Chief Experience Officer Siobhan Fitzpatrick said the move is part of Virgin’s commitment to innovation. “We never stop innovating for our guests,” she said. “This is a UK-first in connectivity.”

Part of a Wider Fleet Transformation

In 2024, Virgin confirmed seven new A330-900neos to complete its $17 billion fleet renewal. By 2028, the airline will operate 45 new-generation aircraft, supporting more efficient and connected journeys.

With Starlink, Virgin Atlantic joins other top carriers like Qatar Airways, United Airlines, and Air France. This new era of onboard connectivity promises a smoother, smarter travel experience.
