United Expands Global Reach with New Summer Routes Across Europe and Beyond
UA Adds New Destinations Across Europe
United Airlines has announced new nonstop flights for Summer 2026, expanding its reach to Croatia, Italy, Scotland, and Spain. The airline will be the only U.S. carrier flying nonstop from Newark to Split, Bari, Glasgow, and Santiago de Compostela.
Flights will also connect Washington-Dulles to Reykjavik, offering more options for travellers heading to Iceland’s stunning landscapes and hot springs. These routes strengthen United’s transatlantic network, making it the largest U.S. airline serving Europe, with 46 cities planned for next summer.
Exclusive New Nonstop Connections
United will launch the only nonstop flights between Split and the U.S., beginning April 30, operated by a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. Split offers history and adventure, from Diocletian’s Palace to the Riva promenade, combining ancient charm with Mediterranean cuisine and seaside views.
Flights to Bari, Italy, begin May 1, connecting travellers to Puglia’s turquoise beaches, Trulli houses, and Old Town’s historic streets. United remains the only U.S. airline serving Palermo and Bari, with up to 15 flights per day to Italian destinations next summer.
On May 8, daily flights from Newark to Glasgow begin, linking travellers to Scotland’s largest city for culture, music, and historic charm. United will also launch service on May 22 to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the endpoint of the famed Camino de Santiago pilgrimage.
Expanding Beyond Europe
From May 21, United will offer daily service between Reykjavik and Washington-Dulles, the only flight featuring lie-flat business class seats. This route connects travellers to Iceland’s unique landscapes, from black sand beaches to the world-famous Blue Lagoon and Northern Lights.
On September 4, United begins daily flights from Newark to Seoul, expanding its reach in Asia with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner service. The airline also adds a third Newark-Tel Aviv flight starting March 28, reinforcing United’s position as the largest U.S. carrier to Israel.
Returning Favourites and Record Growth
United will relaunch nine popular destinations from its record 2025 expansion, including Ulaanbaatar, Faro, Palermo, and Madeira Island. Other returning routes include Bilbao, Nuuk, Kaohsiung, Dakar, and Puerto Escondido, some operating year-round to meet growing passenger demand.
In 2025, United set new records across Italy, Spain, and Portugal, carrying nearly 1.5 million passengers – an 11% increase year over year. With over 850 daily international flights next summer, United continues to lead global connectivity, offering travelers new adventures across the world.
