Sydney travellers are being warned to brace for possible disruption this week.

More than 50 refuellers working for Ampol plan to strike for six hours on 31 July over a pay dispute.

The company has rejected workers’ demand for fairer pay, with better hours.

The Transport Workers Union (TWU) has been in 14 meetings with Ampol over the past six months without agreement.

Workers voted unanimously to take industrial action.

The action will include short one-to-two hour strikes across three different shifts spanning throughout the day.

Ampol serves 16 airlines including Qantas, Virgin, Delta and British Airways.

“If flights are delayed or cancelled because of industrial action, the blame lies solely with Ampol’s management,” the union said.

Passengers can expect delays and cancellations through the day, it said.

“These workers are dedicated but can’t accept further declines in wages and conditions.
