Termination of AA Global Marine Product

July 1, 2023 – In a recent announcement, it has been confirmed that effective immediately, AA Global Marine Product will no longer be offering marine fares on a global scale. This decision will come into effect starting June 30, 2023, which will be the last day for ticketing under this product. While AJB partners (AY/BA/IB) will continue to provide marine fares beyond this date, it is important to note that these fares will not be valid for travel on any AA-operated flights, including AA’s domestic network.

Agencies currently have the option to book AA Marine fares for future travel dates. However, it is crucial to ensure that itineraries are ticketed before the cutoff date of June 30, 2023, as the fares will not be available for purchase thereafter.

Here are some additional details and examples to clarify the procedures:

BEFORE June 30, 2023

For bookings that have already been ticketed, the existing terms and conditions of the AA Marine product will apply to change or cancel the tickets.

Example 1: Suppose a ticket is booked for travel on August 1 and on June 28, a change is required to shift the travel date to August 10. In such cases, if the ticket is reissued before June 30, 2023, it will be covered under the existing terms and conditions of the AA Marine product.

Example 2: Consider a ticket booked for travel on August 1, and on June 28, a cancellation is requested. The ticket can be canceled following the usual process, as changes will not take effect until June 30, 2023.

ON/AFTER July 1, 2023

For bookings that have not been ticketed, the delayed ticketing guidelines as per fare rules must be followed. If a booking is modified before ticketing, it will be necessary to rebook at the applicable published fare, and the base fare guarantee will no longer be applicable.

If changes are required for the outbound segment of a current ticketed booking, rebooking at the applicable published fare will be necessary. Going from bulk to published fare does not require a waiver code.

Regarding changes to the return segment of a round-trip ticket:

If the ticket is round-trip fare, changes to the return will follow the fare rules of the current ticketed fare.

If the ticket was booked as a round trip using two one-way fares:

Prior to departure, changing the return segment will necessitate rebooking the entire round trip at the applicable published fare since bulk fares cannot be combined with published fares. No waiver code is required for reissuing to a published fare.

After departure, only the return segment will require rebooking at the applicable published fare, as the outbound segment has already been flown. No waiver code is required for reissuing from bulk to published fare.

For unused tickets intended for future travel (future travel credit), any changes will require rebooking using the applicable published fare, adhering to the published fare guidelines for ticketing. This applies to modifications made due to schedule changes as well, as schedule change guidelines only apply to originally ticketed PNRs.

Please note that this termination of AA Global Marine Product affects marine fares exclusively, and AA’s other services and offerings remain unaffected.
