South African Airways Unveils Revamped Cape Town Domestic Lounge

A Milestone in Passenger Experience

South African Airways has unveiled its refurbished domestic departures lounge at Cape Town International Airport, strengthening its premium travel offering. SAA delivers its third lounge upgrade, advancing its revitalised concept after successfully transforming lounges in Johannesburg and Gqeberha.

The project underscores the airline’s ongoing commitment to creating world-class spaces that prioritise customer comfort, efficiency, and satisfaction.

Modern Design and Premium Amenities

The lounge underwent a four-month transformation, resulting in a modern, spacious environment tailored to the needs of today’s traveller. Passengers can enjoy versatile seating, private focus booths, collaborative workspaces, curated dining areas, and universal charging ports with high-speed Wi-Fi.

Key highlights include copper-clad concierge desks, a show-bar with baristas and bartenders, and buffet dining featuring gourmet meals and crafted canapés.

Elevated Dining Experience

SAA’s catering partner, Air Chefs, created a menu celebrating fresh, seasonal ingredients with global and local influences. Travellers can enjoy gourmet breakfasts, all-day meals, and indulgent canapés in an inspiring, comfortable pre-flight atmosphere.

CEO Matshela Seshibe emphasised “Air Chefs’ pride in delivering sustainable, nourishing, and innovative food solutions that enrich the passenger experience.”

Commitment to Excellence

SAA Group Chief Executive, John Lamola, said the lounge embodies the airline’s service standards, aspirations, and dedication to passenger-first hospitality. The project was supported by partners Discovery Bank and Investec Bank, reinforcing a sustainable business model for SAA’s lounge network.

The Cape Town Domestic Lounge is located post-security, open daily, and accessible to eligible SAA passengers and banking partners’ clients.
