Recycle your crisp packets!

The Walkers Crisp Recycling Scheme

Did you know that crisp packets are currently not recyclable in home recycling collections? It is with this in mind that Blue Marine Travel have recently joined the Walkers ‘Recycle your crisp packets’ scheme.

Countless pieces of crisp packets end up in landfill sites across the UK every year. The crisp packet Recycling Scheme allows us to recycle these and prevent this from happening to help save our planet and oceans.

At the moment, Walkers use a packaging that keeps their crisps crunchy and delicious. However, they are aiming to make all packaging 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025. In the meantime, they have partnered with recyclers TerraCycle to make it easier to recycle crisp packets and reduce the impact we have on the environment

What happens to your crisp packets?

Your packets could end up as plant pots, park benches, watering cans and cool bags.

How we are involved.

Blue Marine Travel are registered as a collection point. As a registered collection point we will periodically send back empty packets to Walkers.  We have a Blue Marine’s recycling bin is located just outside of our office, in a communal space. Not only are we helping the environment by being part of this scheme, but the waste we recycle also helps us to fund organisations and schools too.
