Qantas Takes Off from Adelaide to Auckland

Qantas Takes Off from Adelaide to Auckland: A Fresh Flight Path and a Stylish New Lounge
Direct Flights Return to Adelaide

Qantas will launch direct international flights between Adelaide and Auckland from 31 October 2025. This marks Qantas’ return to non-stop international services from South Australia.

The seasonal route will operate four times a week on a Boeing 737-800 until 3 May 2026.

More Seats, More Possibilities

More than 30,000 seats will be added, boosting connections and inbound tourism between the two cities. South Australians can now fly to New York via Auckland with just one stop on Qantas’ QF3 service.

This route creates faster access to North America and opens new doors for travellers.

Excitement from Leaders and Locals

Qantas Group CEO International, Cam Wallace, called it “a significant day for Qantas and South Australians.”

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas welcomed the announcement. “There’s no better friend to Australia than New Zealand,” he said. “This flight strengthens our ties with a key economic and AUKUS partner.”

A Showcase of South Australia: New Business Lounge

The announcement also included the launch of Qantas’ first Domestic Business Lounge in Adelaide. Spanning 1,016 square metres, it offers space for up to 190 guests. The lounge celebrates the best of South Australia with local produce and design.

A Market Kitchen, inspired by Adelaide Central Market, serves dishes by Neil Perry. Lighter snack options are created by South Australian food icon Maggie Beer.

Locally sourced furniture, natural materials and a JamFactory light installation complete the space.

Lounge Design Reflects Local Beauty

Designed in collaboration with Architectus, the lounge draws from three South Australian icons:

  • The Adelaide Botanic Gardens
  • Adelaide Central Market
  • Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island

Around 80% of seating includes USB-A/C ports and wireless charging mats for convenience.
