Qantas Expands Daily Flights to New York Ahead of 2026 World Cup
Daily Flights Return to New York
Qantas will expand Sydney – Auckland – New York flights from five weekly to daily services between June and October 2026, boosting connections significantly. This expansion marks Qantas’ first daily service to New York since launching the route in June 2023 and before pre-pandemic disruptions.
Qantas reinstated its A380 on Sydney – Dallas and returned the Dreamliner to Brisbane – Los Angeles, strengthening transpacific routes.
Cam Wallace, Qantas CEO International, said “Daily services demonstrate strong demand and will continue until Project Sunrise launches nonstop flights to New York.”
Project Sunrise and Growing Demand
Project Sunrise aims to connect Sydney and New York nonstop, offering travellers new options alongside existing daily services through Auckland. Qantas sees increasing demand from Americans travelling to Australia and will provide more premium seating across key long-haul destinations.
