Portugal is banning air travel from the UK due to concerns over the new strain of coronavirus. The measures are expected to last until at least the new year. No set dates have been confirmed

 

Based on currently available information, there is a high risk of exposure to COVID-19 in mainland Portugal. All travellers are advised to avoid non-essential travel to mainland Portugal.

Individuals entering or returning to the UK from this country will be required to follow additional UK border measures which includes self-isolation for 14 days.

 

Maderia

  • Passengers flying to the Madeira archipelago have to present a negative test to COVID-19 carried out within 72 hours before embarkation or they will be able to take it upon arrival. More information at www.visitmadeira.pt

Azores

  • Passengers flying to the Azores archipelago will be subject to one of the following options: 1. Submit proof of testing to COVID-19 up to 72 hours prior to flight departure; 2. Perform test on arrival and stay in prophylactic isolation until the result is obtained; 3. Return to the destination of origin or travel to any destination outside the Region
