Philippine Airlines Strengthens Global Presence

Philippine Airlines Strengthens Global Presence with Qatar Airways and Alaska Airlines Partnerships

Two major alliances expand PAL’s international reach across the Middle East, North America, and beyond.

Daily Nonstop Flights Between Manila and Doha

Starting 16 June 2025, PAL will launch daily nonstop flights between Manila and Doha. The route enhances access for travelers heading to the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and beyond through Qatar Airways’ expansive global network.

The flights depart Manila at 18:50 and arrive in Doha at 23:40, perfectly timed for onward connections. Return flights leave Doha at 01:30, reaching Manila by 16:15 — ideal for inbound travelers.

The service will operate on PAL’s long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft, offering flat-bed Business Class and spacious Economy seating.

Strategic Codeshare with Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways will codeshare on these flights as part of a growing collaboration between the two carriers. Both airlines plan to explore further cooperation, including additional destinations and frequent flyer integration.

“This partnership allows us to serve more passengers and support tourism and trade between our countries,” said PAL President Stanley K. Ng.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori called the partnership “a commitment to better global connectivity and deeper community ties.”

New Frequent Flyer Alliance with Alaska Airlines

Across the Pacific, PAL has also teamed up with Alaska Airlines to launch a new frequent flyer partnership.

This agreement allows PAL’s Mabuhay Miles and Alaska’s Mileage Plan members to earn and redeem miles across both networks. It enhances travel options for Filipino communities in Hawai‘i, California, and Washington State.

PAL currently flies from major U.S. gateways to Manila, including daily service from Los Angeles and San Francisco. From Manila, Alaska Airlines passengers can connect to dozens of destinations across the Philippines and Asia.

Alaska’s Vice President of Loyalty Brett Catlin said, “This partnership gives our members more opportunities to earn miles on transpacific journeys.”

PAL’s Global Expansion Momentum

These alliances mark a new chapter for Philippine Airlines as it expands global reach and strengthens ties with key international partners.

With daily flights to Doha and new loyalty benefits in North America, PAL is committed to making global travel easier and more rewarding for its customers.
