Philippine airlines lift mask mandate on flights

The Philippines recently lifted the air travel mask mandate.

Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Philippines and Philippine Airlines welcomed the move and have scrapped the requirement for wearing masks in the cabin.

The dropping of the mask mandate covers all domestic flights.

For international flights, it remains dependent on health protocols in force at the destination.

“Although it is no longer a policy, guests and crew may still opt to wear masks whenever necessary,” AirAsia Philippines said.

“Passengers are advised to continue washing hands, disinfecting, and physical distancing when necessary,” Cebu Pacific said.

It also advised travelers to continue to check in online to avoid long airport queues and overcrowding.

At Manila International Airport, arriving passengers no longer have to declare their vaccination records or present Covid-19 test results.

Other procedures, such as screening individuals showing possible symptoms will continue.
