Norse Atlantic Expands Cape Town Flights Amid Soaring Demand
More Flights, Longer Season
Norse Atlantic Airways is ramping up service between London Gatwick and Cape Town. Due to high demand, the airline will extend its seasonal route and add more weekly flights.
The 2025/2026 season begins on 2 October 2025 and continues through 31 May 2026.
Flights will peak at up to six per week, offering more flexibility for leisure and business travelers. The schedule aligns with South Africa’s summer season, supporting tourism and trade growth.
Why Norse Is Doubling Down on Cape Town
Norse saw success with its inaugural Cape Town route and is now investing further in the market.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to South Africa,” said Chief Commercial Officer Bård Nordhagen.
By increasing frequencies, Norse aims to reinforce its reputation with both trade and consumer markets.
Andrew Fish, Head of UK & South Africa Sales, said demand is strong and continues to grow.
Fleet and Cabin Experience
All flights are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, offering comfort and fuel efficiency. Passengers can choose between Norse Economy or Norse Premium, both with generous legroom.
Entertainment systems are available at every seat, and Premium features the largest seat in its class.
Boost to South African Tourism
Wesgro, the Western Cape’s tourism agency, praised Norse’s commitment to long-term service. Cape Town is pushing to grow as a year-round destination, and Norse’s flights support this goal.
The airline’s added capacity arrives just in time for peak international travel into South Africa.
Strategic Growth for Norse
Founded in 2021, Norse Atlantic is steadily growing its global network from London. The Cape Town route joins a portfolio that includes the U.S., Caribbean, and now Africa.
Affordable fares and direct flights position Norse as a strong alternative to traditional carriers.
