Lufthansa Offers Baggage Collection & Check-In for Frankfurt

Lufthansa has launched a convenient new baggage collection and check-in service for passengers departing from Frankfurt. In partnership with technology provider AirPortr, the service allows travelers to have their luggage picked up from their home or hotel, eliminating the need to carry heavy bags to the airport.

Hassle-Free Airport Experience

Passengers can book the service on Lufthansa’s website up to 36 hours before departure. After pick-up, luggage is sealed and transported securely to the airport for check-in. Travelers receive real-time updates via a tracking link and a digital baggage receipt, allowing them to proceed directly to security upon arrival at the airport. Bags are collected only upon reaching their final destination.

Currently, the service is available to customers in Frankfurt, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Hanau, Aschaffenburg, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Darmstadt, and Bensheim, with further expansion planned. Pricing starts at €25, with costs varying based on location and pick-up time.

Heiko Reitz, Lufthansa Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer, highlighted the airline’s commitment to improving passenger convenience:
“With the new pick-up and check-in service, we are offering our passengers another exclusive service that is unique in Germany. We are making the journey easier from the very first minute.”

This initiative enhances Lufthansa’s premium offerings, making travel more seamless—especially for those using public transport to reach the airport.
