Korean Air briefly returns to Brisbane

The SkyTeam member revamps its Australian schedule and restores a popular route, if only for two months.

Korean Air will return to Brisbane in early 2023, restoring the pre-pandemic route three days a week between January 1 and February 27.

A spokesperson for the airline had confirmed the change to Executive Traveller, with the airline’s timetable now listing the following schedule for the Airbus A330:

  • Sunday, Wednesday and Friday will see KE407 leaving Seoul at 7.45pm, reaching Brisbane at 6.15am the following day
  • Monday, Thursday and Saturday show the KE408 return leg wheels-up from Brisbane at 8.50am, arriving into Seoul at 5.40pm

These A330s feature Korean Air’s Prestige Class business suites, arranged in rows of 2-2-2 – although as noted in a previous review of Korean Air’s A330 business class between Seoul and Brisbane, the unique staggered layout lets each passenger enjoy direct access to the aisle.

However, Korean Air says it will not be temporarily suspending its Seoul-Sydney service, despite reports this was flagged in an update shared with travel agents this morning.

As it happens, the skies between Sydney and Seoul are set to become more crowded from the end of this year with Jetstar launching thrice-weekly flights from November 2 and Qantas following with four series a week on December 10.
