Jetstar Simplifies Travel with Mobile Passport Scanning and Uber Reserve Integration

Faster International Check-In

Jetstar customers can now check in for international flights by scanning their passport directly into the Jetstar app. The new feature eliminates manual entry, allowing travellers to instantly capture passport details with their mobile camera.

Jetstar is among the few low-cost carriers in the Asia Pacific to offer this convenient passport scanning option. The change reduces errors, saves time, and is especially useful for families and groups checking in together.

Mobile passport scanning is available on most international routes, except flights to Vietnam, Fiji, Vanuatu, and the Philippines.

Streamlined App Check-In

Jetstar reduced app steps from starting check-in to issuing a mobile boarding pass for a faster experience. Passengers now open the Jetstar app, confirm health and baggage requirements, scan their passport, and add their boarding pass.

Boarding passes can be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet for easy access and convenience.

Reserve Airport Rides with Uber

From October 30, Jetstar customers can book Uber Reserve rides directly through the app for hassle-free airport transfers. Uber Reserve allows reservations from 30 minutes to 90 days in advance, giving travellers certainty for every trip.

Passengers select pick-up and drop-off locations, date, time, and preferred vehicle, with upfront pricing displayed clearly. The service is available in Australia and New Zealand, with $10 off the first Uber Reserve booking until November 30.

Enhancing the Travel Experience

Jetstar aims to make international travel smoother by reducing check-in steps and integrating transport options within the app. Passengers can manage flights, boarding passes, baggage, and seat selections directly in the app, avoiding email searches.

The app’s new features help travellers stay in control, feel prepared, and enjoy a stress-free journey from start to finish.

Partnering for Convenience

Uber Australia and New Zealand highlighted that Uber Reserve integration provides certainty, choice, and peace of mind for travellers. Jetstar’s Executive Manager, Jenn Armor, said “The improvements make travel easier, letting customers focus on enjoying their trips.
