JetBlue has announced significant changes to its route network, including the complete cancellation of its transatlantic flights to London Gatwick.
Initially paused for the winter season, the airline had planned to resume flights from Gatwick to New York JFK and Boston for the summer. However, it has now decided to scrap the routes entirely.
In addition, JetBlue is scaling back its Paris service, reducing the frequency to just one daily flight. Plans to reinstate a second daily service for summer have also been shelved.
The airline stated it would soon reveal how the reallocated capacity will be utilised, including potential expansions within its European network.
“Recently, we made some network adjustments in certain markets, removing underperforming routes to redeploy resources to higher-demand destinations,” JetBlue said.
Domestic Adjustments
On the domestic front, JetBlue is also cutting several routes:
- New York JFK flights to Austin, Houston, Miami, and Milwaukee.
- All flights to San Jose, California.
- Westchester to Charleston.
- Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale.
These changes come as part of JetBlue’s broader “JetForward” strategic plan, aimed at building a more profitable and sustainable network.
“As part of our JetForward strategic plan, JetBlue is focused on building a network that best serves our customers and supports our long-term success,” the airline said.
Travelers can expect updates on how JetBlue plans to reshape its route offerings in the coming weeks.
