Indonesia drops vax mandate for foreign arrivals

Indonesia has finally ditched its vaccination requirement to enter the country.

It has scrapped the mandatory Covid vaccination requirement just as the peak Indonesia tourism season kicks in.

The move has been expected for some weeks.

“You no longer need to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination to enter Indonesia or travel domestically,” the official ‘surat ederan’ decree stated.

Foreign arrivals do not need to undergo PCR tests but are still advised to download the SATUSEHAT health monitoring app.

Travellers must comply with all national or local health and safety measures in place.

It will significantly boost Indonesia tourism in time for the peak July-August season.

Still less than half of the eligible population have received booster jabs and the nationwide first and second booster program will continue.
