Gatwick flight cap extended for two weeks

Gatwick Airport confirmed the daily flight cap will remain for another two weeks.

Imposed by air traffic control service NATS due to staff sickness, the daily cap began on 25 September.

It will now run through to 15 October 2023 as a \precautionary measure.’

‘Further staffing challenges’ have compelled Gatwick to extend the flight limit.

The airport says there will be ‘no impact’ on several days due to airlines’ reduced schedules after summer although all passengers to check the status of their flights before leaving for the airport.

“Following further discussions with NATS and the airlines, the airport has decided to extend the temporary limit. The airport said.

“The limit will be kept under review while we continue to work with NATS on their staffing challenges.”

Just yesterday, thousands of Gatwick passengers were evacuated from the airport due to a ‘fire alarm being activated’.
