New requirements are as follows:
Customers traveling towards France (final destination) from all countries except the European Union countries, as well as Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Switzerland, San Marino, Vatican and Iceland) and except the overseas territories (detailed below):
• Negative Covid test of less than 72 hours mandatory before boarding
• Only PCR or LAMP tests are allowed. Antigenic tests are no longer authorized
• A travel certificate is required. The customer undertakes to isolate himself 7 days after his arrival (self-confinement) and to redo a test at the end of his isolation.
• Customers traveling from the following countries are exempt from the travel certificate: Australia, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore and Thailand.
As of 1st January 2021, citizens of certain nationalities that hold a British visa or residence permit who are travelling to the UK must acquire an Airport Transit Visa (ATV) if they transit through France.
List of countries who require an ATV
Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Republic o f Congo, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Mali, Mauritania, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia (only Russians coming from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Turkey or Egypt), Senegal, Syria, Palestinians with refugee travel documents, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan, and Sri Lanka.
Exceptions
Citizens of the above-mentioned countries holding a visa or residence permit in addition to the UK visa or residence permit from Canada, Japan, the US or European countries are allowed to transit through France or the Netherlands without an ATV.
Travel to France is subject to entry restrictions
- Arrivals by sea and air routes will need to complete a ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with coronavirus and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight.
- Although there is no restriction on travel from the UK and most European countries, travel from most non-European countries is subject to entry restrictions.
- Passengers are subject to quarantine or isolation.
- Passengers without a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 test taken at most 72 hours before departure are subject to test upon arrival. This applies to several nationalities.
