Etihad Airways marked a significant milestone beginning February, by flying its Airbus A380 to Singapore for the first time. This landmark moment enhances travel between the UAE and Singapore, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to delivering an exceptional passenger experience.
The world’s largest passenger aircraft now operates on the Abu Dhabi-Singapore route, bringing Etihad’s signature inflight offerings to this key destination. Travelers can experience The Residence, the only three-room suite in the sky, along with The Lobby, an exclusive lounge area on the upper deck for First and Business class guests.
Strengthening Etihad’s Global Network
“Singapore is a vibrant and dynamic city, and it remains a key destination in our global network,” said Arik De, Etihad Airways’ Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer. “Deploying our much-loved A380 on this route boosts our travel offering and demonstrates our commitment to providing outstanding travel experiences across Etihad’s expanding global network.
“Bringing the A380 to Singapore, along with increasing frequency on key routes, highlights our strong growth momentum in Asia. This added capacity reflects the rising demand we’re seeing for travel to and from Singapore.”
The UAE and Singapore maintain strong connections across various sectors, including trade, culture, and business. The upgraded service caters to both leisure and business travelers, particularly in industries such as aviation, energy, and technology.
Increased Capacity and Luxury Travel
The A380 increases the Abu Dhabi-Singapore route’s capacity by 28%, offering 486 seats across four cabin classes:
- The Residence – A luxurious three-room suite in the sky, complete with a private bedroom, living room, and ensuite shower.
- First Apartments – Nine private suites with reclining leather armchairs and separate beds.
- Business Studios – 70 spacious seats offering privacy and comfort for premium travelers.
- Economy Smart Seats – 405 seats designed for enhanced comfort and space.
The increased capacity on this route opens new opportunities for travelers to experience Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant tourism scene. Etihad’s Abu Dhabi Stopover program further enhances connectivity, allowing passengers to extend their layovers with up to two complimentary nights in premium hotels.
With this expansion, Etihad reaffirms its dedication to providing seamless global connectivity while delivering a world-class travel experience.
