Emirates Expands Refitted Boeing 777 Fleet

More European Travelers Gain Access to Premium Economy

Emirates is expanding its refitted Boeing 777 fleet, bringing an upgraded travel experience to more European and global destinations. The Dubai-based airline is retrofitting its B777 aircraft with a four-class configuration, including Premium Economy and a refreshed Business Class.

From June 1, 2025, travelers flying between Dubai and Lisbon will experience the enhanced Boeing 777 cabins on EK 191/192 and EK 193/194. Dublin will follow on June 25, with the new Business and Premium Economy cabins debuting on EK 161/162.

London Stansted Among First to Receive Upgraded B777s

London Stansted will be among the first European destinations to receive the revamped Boeing 777. Emirates will introduce the refitted aircraft on the London Stansted-Dubai route starting May 7. The second daily service from Stansted will also switch to the upgraded B777 from June 1, ensuring passengers enjoy a superior onboard experience.

New Refitted B777s for Asia, Africa, and the Indian Ocean

Beyond Europe, Emirates will roll out its refurbished Boeing 777s to key global destinations:

  • Hong Kong (from July 15 on EK 382/383) will become the second Chinese city to feature the upgraded aircraft.
  • Maldives flights will see the refreshed interiors from June 1 on EK 658/659, expanding to EK 656/657 and EK 660/661 from July 15.
  • Kolkata will receive its first Premium Economy and refreshed Business Class experience on August 10 with four weekly flights on EK 572/573.
  • Colombo will welcome the retrofitted Boeing 777 on August 10, complementing Emirates’ new A350 operations to Sri Lanka’s capital.
  • Johannesburg and Cape Town will become the first South African destinations to feature the refreshed cabins.
    • Johannesburg will receive the upgraded aircraft from September 1 on EK 765/766, followed by EK 761/762 on September 25.
    • Cape Town will launch the new interiors on September 20 with daily flights EK 770/771.
A Multi-Billion Dollar Investment in Passenger Comfort

Emirates has committed $5 billion to refurbishing more than 220 Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft, making it the largest retrofit program in aviation history.

The upgraded Boeing 777s now feature:

  • Premium Economy: 24 spacious seats, offering superior comfort and exclusive amenities.
  • Business Class: 1-2-1 seat configuration, ensuring aisle access, privacy, and enhanced comfort.
  • Economy Class: 260 redesigned seats, providing a more enjoyable long-haul travel experience.
Aiming for 44 Cities by September 2025

Emirates plans to deploy its refreshed Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s to 44 cities worldwide by September 2025. The ongoing fleet upgrade underscores Emirates’ commitment to innovation, premium service, and passenger comfort across its global network.
