Emirates and Bahamasair Partner to Boost Caribbean Travel
New Interline Agreement Expands Caribbean Access
Emirates and Bahamasair have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch an interline partnership. This agreement allows Emirates customers to seamlessly reach The Bahamas via connections in Florida.
Passengers landing in Miami or Orlando can now book through to Nassau, Freeport, or San Salvador. The entire journey is available on one ticket, simplifying travel to the Caribbean destination.
Convenience, Connectivity, and Competitive Fares
The interline partnership offers Emirates travelers a generous baggage allowance on Bahamasair flights. This convenience includes easier transfers, streamlined check-ins, and competitive pricing across both carriers.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, called the deal “a strategic expansion into the Caribbean.” He emphasised the benefit to passengers seeking seamless travel and great value for money.
Supporting Tourism and Trade Growth
This collaboration supports Emirates’ broader goal to promote tourism in The Bahamas. Alongside the MoU, Emirates also signed an agreement with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Together, they will promote the island nation across Emirates’ network of over 140 destinations. The goal is to increase visibility and drive new travel and trade opportunities.
Bahamasair Looks to Global Growth
Tracy Cooper, Managing Director of Bahamasair, welcomed the partnership with enthusiasm. “Aligning with Emirates enhances our global reach and connects us with new markets,” she said. The deal positions Bahamasair to expand internationally while improving services for Caribbean-bound travelers.
More Options Through Florida Gateways
Emirates currently serves Miami with daily flights on its Boeing 777.
Orlando sees five weekly Emirates flights, both offering easy onward connections to The Bahamas.
These Florida hubs are now key points of entry for Caribbean travel via the new agreement. The MoU also paves the way for possible cargo and loyalty programme collaborations between the two airlines.
