Edinburgh Airport Christmas Flights at Risk Amid Strike Threats

Unite, the union representing tanker drivers at North Air, has warned of potential disruption to flights at Edinburgh Airport during the festive season. North Air, the sole provider of refueling services for airlines at the airport, faces strike action after a 4.5% pay offer was rejected by its employees.

Despite ACAS-led conciliation talks, no improved offer has been made, prompting Unite to consider issuing strike dates. This action could coincide with peak holiday travel, threatening significant delays.

Sharon Graham, Unite’s general secretary, stated, “North Air is a profitable company, and there is no excuse for not making an improved pay offer.”

Travelers are advised to monitor updates closely.
