Delta is Adding New Flights to Barbados, Puerto Plata, Mazatlán, and Curaçao

Delta Air Lines announced today that it is adding and expanding service to several warm weather destinations next fall. This includes new and expanded service to Barbados, Puerto Plata, Mazatlán, and Curaçao.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Delta will launch daily flights from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Bridgetown’s Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) beginning on November 23rd and December 21st. These flights will operate once weekly on Saturdays. Delta has not flown to Barbados since 2017.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Flights between Puerto Plata International Airport (POP) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will commence on November 23rd. The carrier has not served this destination since 2011.

Curaçao

Curaçao International Airport (CUR) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) will switch from 1x weekly to daily service on November 23rd.

Mazatlán, Mexico

Delta will return to Mazatlán International Airport (MZT) for the first time since March 2019. Flights from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Sun Country currently offers this route, so this is likely an example of Delta guarding one of its hubs.
All of the new and expanded routes will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft. These are currently being refreshed with new seats and amenities. They’ll continue to offer First Class, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin options.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, said:

Delta is establishing vital connections from Atlanta and across the U.S. that allow our customers to reach their dream vacation destinations with ease. This latest schedule gives travelers unparalleled choice, with up to 1,000 weekly flights to distinctive places throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.”
