Delta Expands Free High-Speed Wi-Fi to South Africa
Global Rollout Gains Momentum
Delta Air Lines expanded its free high-speed Wi-Fi to flights serving South Africa. The service strengthened Delta’s international connectivity initiative.
Passengers flying between South Africa and the U.S. could now enjoy fast, complimentary Wi-Fi. Delta planned to complete the rollout across all transatlantic routes by mid-to-late 2025.
Technology and Coverage
Delta used advanced satellite systems from Viasat and Hughes to deliver seamless in-flight internet. Delta Sync Wi-Fi was already active on more than 930 aircraft, including 20 Delta Connection regional jets.
The airline expected to reach 1,000 Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft by early November.
Enhancing the Passenger Experience
SkyMiles Members flying to and from South Africa could now connect as easily as they do at home. The new service supported Delta’s mission to offer an exceptional travel experience.
Additional African connectivity would launch with Delta’s inaugural Atlanta to Marrakech flight on October 25. Wi-Fi on transpacific routes would follow by early 2026.
