American Airlines Extends Suspension of Flights to Israel Until September 2025

American Airlines has announced it will extend its suspension of flights to Israel until September 2025, marking one of the longest U.S. airline service pauses related to the ongoing conflict in the region. The airline initially halted flights to Tel Aviv following the October 7, 2023, escalation and had previously extended the suspension to March 2025.

In a statement, American Airlines noted the extension was made “to provide customers with certainty” and allows passengers affected by this decision to rebook with partner airlines or request a refund.

Other carriers, including Delta, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic, have also paused their flights to Israel, with most reassessing schedules in early 2025. Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport has seen reduced international traffic, leading to the closure of Terminal 1 for international flights, with only a limited number of flights continuing at Terminal 3.
