Alaska Airlines Unveils Atmos Rewards to Replace Mileage Plan
Alaska Airlines is transforming its loyalty program by launching Atmos Rewards, which unites Alaska’s Mileage Plan with Hawaiian’s HawaiianMiles program.
Seamless Loyalty Integration for Travellers
Starting in 2026, all Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles members will automatically transition into Atmos Rewards without changing account numbers. Passengers will earn and redeem points across Alaska, Hawaiian, and more than 30 global partners, covering flights, vacations, and rental cars.
Travellers now choose how to earn points: by miles flown, money spent, or flat rewards for segments.
Flexible Ways to Earn Points
Passengers flying distance earn one point per mile travelled, rewarding long-haul journeys and frequent flyers with significant point accumulation. Spending-based accrual offers five points per dollar, giving premium cabin and last-minute travellers bigger loyalty returns on costly tickets.
Short-distance travellers benefit from 500 points per segment, rewarding island hoppers and frequent short-haul passengers with fast elite progression.
Expanding Partnerships and Everyday Earning
Atmos Rewards extends beyond flights, rewarding Lyft riders two points per dollar, and three points for airport trips or premium rides. Members will also earn points using Alaska’s credit cards, gaining access to milestone perks like lounge passes and inflight meals.
Points remain redeemable on Alaska, Hawaiian, and partner airlines, providing expanded flexibility for both domestic and international travellers worldwide.
New Atmos Summit Premium Card
The Atmos Summit Visa Infinite card costs $395 annually but offers significant benefits, including lounge passes and milestone point bonuses. Cardholders can receive a 100,000-point sign-up bonus after spending $6,000 within 90 days, significantly boosting elite progression.
Global Companion Awards provide 25,000-point discounts for award companions, and heavy spenders earn up to 100,000 points annually in bonuses.
Elite Status Reimagined
Atmos Rewards replaces traditional MVP tiers with Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Titanium levels, requiring 20,000 to 135,000 status points. Status perks include upgrades, waived fees, lounge access, and milestone rewards like Wi-Fi and inflight meals beginning at 10,000 points.
Alaska preserves its beloved Club 49 program for Alaska residents, offering two free checked bags when flying to or from Alaska.
Looking Ahead
Alaska Airlines plans to integrate Hawaiian’s aircraft into international service, expanding routes from Seattle to Tokyo, Seoul, Rome, and London. Atmos Rewards modernises loyalty by aligning with customer preferences for choice, flexibility, and everyday earning across flights, travel partners, and lifestyle spending.
