Air France-KLM Introduces Short Connection Pass

Air France-KLM Introduces Short Connection Pass at Paris-Charles de Gaulle

Enhancing Passenger Transfers with Connect France

Air France-KLM and Groupe ADP launched the Short Connection Pass this summer, part of their Connect France initiative announced last year. The system prioritises passengers with tight connections, ensuring smoother transits through Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, where nearly half of 140,000 daily travelers connect.

Optimised flight schedules already support baggage and passenger connections, but unexpected delays can reduce available time, creating stressful situations for many travellers.

Automatic Priority Access for Short Connections

When connection times fall below thresholds, such as 45 minutes between flights, passengers automatically receive priority without requesting it themselves. Upon arrival, eligible travellers receive SMS and email alerts advising them of their Short Connection Pass, with app updates coming soon.

The pass grants priority access at security and border controls once boarding passes are scanned, streamlining processing and reducing wait times. This innovation ensures passengers reach their gates quickly, avoiding missed flights, and improving overall airport efficiency for both travellers and operations teams.

Real-Time Information Sharing Across Partners

The Short Connection Pass relies on real-time data shared between Air France, Groupe ADP, and service providers at checkpoints. Shared information includes walking times between terminals, estimated screening durations, checkpoint wait times, and updated departure schedules for ongoing flights.

This integration allows customer service teams to anticipate demand and ensure short-connection travellers receive priority assistance exactly when needed. Such coordination highlights how technology can transform airport operations, minimising bottlenecks while supporting customer care for international travellers of all nationalities.

Strengthening Paris-Charles de Gaulle’s Global Standing

Executives stressed that this initiative demonstrates a shared ambition to enhance Paris-Charles de Gaulle’s role as a global travel hub. They emphasised the hub’s strength in offering connection opportunities, now further enhanced by streamlined flows and simplified journeys for international passengers.

By combining innovation with operational efficiency, Air France-KLM and Groupe ADP reinforce Paris’s position as one of Europe’s most powerful airports. The Short Connection Pass marks only the beginning of Connect France, promising further advancements designed to transform the passenger experience.
