Abu Dhabi to Launch First Vertiport Network for Air Taxi Services in 2026
Abu Dhabi will launch its first vertiport network in 2026 to support advanced air mobility across the emirate.
The network will allow electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to operate efficiently at strategic urban and intercity locations. It will facilitate low-emission travel, improve connectivity, and position Abu Dhabi as a global pioneer in advanced urban mobility.
Building the Future of Sustainable Urban Travel
The vertiport network will include more than ten state-of-the-art facilities across the emirate. Key hubs include Zayed International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Yas Island, Saadiyat, and Abu Dhabi Island.
Each vertiport will integrate ground transport and digital infrastructure to provide seamless multimodal connections for passengers. The network will support faster, cleaner, and more efficient air transport for residents, tourists, and business travellers. It will enhance connectivity between airports, business districts, and tourism destinations across Abu Dhabi.
Collaboration Driving Innovation
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) leads the project with GCAA, the Integrated Transport Centre, and Abu Dhabi Airports. This initiative is part of the SAVI cluster strategy, supporting economic diversification with advanced and sustainable air mobility technologies.
Abu Dhabi Airports will act as the anchor investor and primary delivery partner for the vertiport network. The Integrated Transport Centre and GCAA will ensure a clear regulatory framework, focusing on safety, performance, integration, and financial sustainability.

Officials say the vertiport network marks a major leap in aviation infrastructure for Abu Dhabi and the UAE. It demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to leading global adoption of sustainable and smart urban mobility solutions.
