Unionized Air Tahiti Nui cabin crew are on an indefinite work stoppage, disrupting flights since July 10

Unionized cabin crew workers of Air Tahiti Nui (TN) have initiated an indefinite strike as of July 10 in French Polynesia. The primary demand of the strike is a wage revision.

The strike started on July 5 at 00:01 and has caused disruptions to several flights, including those connecting to Australia and New Zealand. Codesharing partners such as Qantas Airways (QF) have also been affected by the strike, resulting in flight disruptions. Even after the strike concludes, there may be lingering flight disruptions as airlines work to clear passenger and flight backlogs.

The workers have the possibility of withdrawing the strike at short notice if negotiations prove successful.

Additionally, strike-related protests are anticipated near airports, airline offices, and public squares. These protests could involve dozens of participants. There is a possibility of minor skirmishes with security personnel, particularly if demonstrators attempt to forcibly enter airports.
