Air India and Singapore Airlines Deepen Partnership with New Cooperation Framework
Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have taken a major step toward strengthening their long-standing partnership.
The two carriers signed a new commercial cooperation framework agreement, setting the stage for deeper collaboration pending regulatory approvals. The agreement was signed in Mumbai on 16 January 2026 by Air India CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson and SIA CEO Goh Choon Phong.
Improving Connectivity Between India and Singapore
The new framework allows both airlines to explore enhanced connectivity between Singapore and India. The partnership aims to deliver more route options, better schedules, and greater convenience for travellers.
Customers could eventually book flights across both airlines as a single, seamless journey. The airlines also plan closer coordination of flight schedules. This move would improve connection times and offer more flexible travel options across both networks.
Expanded Benefits for Frequent and Business Travellers
Air India and SIA will explore deeper cooperation in corporate travel programmes. This could improve value and flexibility for business travellers flying between key markets.
The airlines are also considering enhanced frequent flyer privileges. Future benefits may go beyond existing Star Alliance rewards for Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members.
Building on a Strong Existing Relationship
Today, Air India and Singapore Airlines codeshare on 61 destinations across 20 countries and territories. This follows a major expansion in October 2024, which added 51 new domestic and international routes.
Looking ahead, the carriers may extend cooperation into select markets beyond India and Singapore. This would support growing global travel demand and strengthen both airlines’ hub strategies.
Further details will be announced as definitive agreements are finalised.
