Condor Extends Frankfurt–Cape Town

Condor Extends Frankfurt–Cape Town Flights into May 2026

Strong Demand Extends Season

Condor will extend its seasonal Frankfurt–Cape Town flights beyond April 2026 due to high demand from European travellers. The extended season will now run from May 2 to May 22, 2026.

This marks an additional three weeks of connectivity between Europe and South Africa during the late-spring travel period. The move highlights strong interest in South Africa’s tourism offerings among German and European visitors.

Flexible Flight Schedule
  • Condor will operate three weekly flights between Frankfurt and Cape Town in May 2026.
  • Flight DE2290 will depart Frankfurt every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
  • The return flight, DE2291, will depart Cape Town every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The schedule offers flexibility for both short breaks and longer stays. Flights will use Condor’s comfortable long-haul aircraft, ensuring an easy, nonstop journey between the two cities.

Benefits for Tourism and Travellers

The extension benefits South Africa’s tourism sector, giving local businesses a longer international season. Hotels, tour operators, and guides can now plan for more consistent visitor numbers through early winter.

Travellers gain more time to explore Cape Town’s world-famous attractions under mild weather and fewer crowds. Highlights include Table Mountain, the Cape Winelands, and the scenic Cape Peninsula.

The extended schedule also encourages creative travel packages that combine adventure, culture, and relaxation.

Strengthening Global Connections

Condor’s decision reflects a growing trend of airlines expanding beyond traditional peak seasons. By extending its flights, Condor strengthens Cape Town’s position as Africa’s leading gateway.

The route offers one-stop access to many South African regions and nearby destinations. It also improves options for business travellers and diaspora communities flying between Europe and Africa. For travellers, the convenience of direct service saves time and enhances comfort.

A Win for Both Continents

This move signals confidence in South Africa’s long-term tourism potential. It supports stronger economic ties and promotes year-round travel opportunities. For African travel professionals, it’s a chance to build partnerships and attract more European visitors.

By embracing extended flight schedules, the continent can spread tourism benefits across more months. The Frankfurt–Cape Town route extension shows that Africa’s travel appeal continues to rise globally.
