Qatar Airways to Launch First U.S. Lounge

Qatar Airways to Launch First U.S. Lounge at JFK’s New Terminal One in 2026

A Strategic Move to New York’s State-of-the-Art Terminal

Qatar Airways will relocate its New York operations to The New Terminal One at JFK Airport in 2026. The airline’s move coincides with the opening of a 15,000-square-foot dedicated lounge, its first exclusive facility in the United States.

Premium Lounge Experience for Business Class Passengers

The new lounge will offer direct access to boarding gates, enhancing efficiency and convenience for Qatar Airways’ premium travellers. Guests will enjoy VIP check-in services, private relaxation zones, prayer rooms, children’s play areas, and luxury dining options at JFK.

Duty-free shopping and curated beverage selections will further elevate the passenger experience in Qatar Airways’ signature Business Class environment.

Collaboration with Terminal One for Seamless Travel

The New Terminal One will combine modern architecture, light-filled spaces, and advanced technology to create a seamless travel experience for passengers. Qatar Airways and the terminal team will ensure every touchpoint, from arrival to departure, complements the airline’s renowned onboard service.

This partnership highlights a shared vision of efficiency, comfort, and world-class facilities for international and domestic travellers alike.

Executive Perspectives on the JFK Expansion

Qatar Airways Group CEO, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, highlighted that “The lounge reflects the airline’s commitment to premium services and global connectivity.” He confirmed that passengers will receive dedicated transfers, enhanced retail and dining options, and a consistently exceptional airport journey.

Jennifer Aument, CEO of The New Terminal One, welcomed Qatar Airways, emphasising the airline’s trust in their terminal for international growth opportunities.

Supporting JFK’s $19 Billion Transformation

The terminal is part of a $19 billion JFK modernisation project, including two new terminals, expanded existing terminals, and a redesigned roadway network. This infrastructure upgrade will support growing passenger demand while enhancing operational efficiency for airlines like Qatar Airways at JFK.

Connecting the U.S. to Global Destinations

Since 2008, Qatar Airways has operated at JFK, serving 11 U.S. destinations and transporting over 3 million passengers annually to more than 170 cities. The relocation to Terminal One and the lounge introduction will strengthen connections from the U.S. to Doha and Qatar Airways’ worldwide network.

Passengers can expect improved comfort, efficiency, and access to premium services as part of the airline’s long-term New York strategy.
