Hawaiian Airlines Reshapes Network

Hawaiian Airlines Reshapes Network: Cuts Routes, Expands Australia Focus

Airline Strengthens Sydney Service

Hawaiian Airlines will cut three underperforming routes while boosting capacity on stronger markets, particularly Sydney, to capture rising demand. From 18 December to 31 January, the airline will increase Honolulu–Sydney flights to daily, up from five weekly.

Hawaiian Airlines will suspend flights between Honolulu and Incheon, Fukuoka, and Boston starting November, redeploying aircraft to high-demand routes. The airline’s final flights will operate from Fukuoka and Boston on 19 November, and Incheon on 21 November.

Hawaiian Airlines CEO Joe Sprague “Acknowledged the difficulty of suspending routes, particularly Seoul, served successfully for over fourteen years.” He cited soft post-pandemic demand in Asia and persistent market challenges in Boston and Fukuoka as driving factors.

New Network Investments

The airline will double Honolulu–Papeete service to two weekly flights starting in March, reflecting stronger Tahiti travel demand.

From late November, Hawaiian will add a fourth daily Seattle flight and a fifth daily Los Angeles service during holidays.

Connections Remain Available

Passengers can still reach Incheon and Fukuoka via one-stop connections through Japan or global partners, including oneworld member airlines.

Between Honolulu and Boston, passengers can connect daily via Alaska Airlines, using Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, or San Diego.

Stronger Pacific Commitment

Hawaiian Airlines reinforces its Pacific focus with expanded Australia, Tahiti, Los Angeles, and Seattle routes, aligning with robust travel demand. The network reshaping allows Hawaiian to provide reliable, convenient connections while meeting increasing international and domestic travel needs.
