Airlink and Turkish Airlines Sign Codeshare Agreement

Airlink and Turkish Airlines Sign Codeshare Agreement to Expand Travel Options Across Africa
Seamless connectivity between Türkiye and Southern Africa now possible on a single ticket

Seamless Travel on a Single Ticket

Airlink has signed a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines to enable seamless multi-sector travel on a single ticket. Starting 1 August 2025, Turkish Airlines will place its flight code on select Airlink-operated routes within Southern Africa.

This agreement allows passengers arriving in Johannesburg or Cape Town to connect smoothly to regional destinations served by Airlink. The collaboration integrates Turkish Airlines’ global network with Airlink’s extensive domestic and regional routes in Southern Africa.

Passengers can now enjoy greater convenience, flexibility, and connectivity when flying between Türkiye and Southern Africa. The codeshare enables coordinated schedules and streamlined services for international and regional travellers using both airlines.

A Strategic Partnership for Growth

Airlink CEO De Villiers Engelbrecht said “The partnership marks an important milestone in strengthening ties between the two carriers.” He said the agreement supports Airlink’s brand while offering more convenient travel options and access to new destinations.

Turkish Airlines Chief Investment & Strategy Officer Levent Konukcu praised the agreement as “Key to growing South Africa connections”. He added the partnership would deepen cultural and tourism ties between Türkiye and South Africa through increased flight accessibility.

Executives from both airlines signed the agreement during a ceremony at Airlink’s headquarters in Johannesburg on 12 July 2025. The deal allows passengers to enjoy world-class service across a single itinerary, eliminating the hassle of booking multiple tickets.

Turkish Airlines strengthens its African footprint with Airlink’s network reaching over 45 destinations in 13 countries. This strategic alliance aims to unlock more opportunities for travellers and boost tourism and trade between the two regions.

Both airlines are committed to enhancing customer experience by aligning service standards and simplifying travel across their networks. The new codeshare promises to make global and regional travel easier, faster, and more comfortable for passengers across continents.
