Turkish Airlines to Launch London Stansted Flights in March 2026

Turkish Airlines to Launch London Stansted Flights in March 2026

The carrier adds its sixth UK airport as Istanbul-London connections soar to record highs

Stansted Returns to Turkish Airlines Network

Turkish Airlines will resume flights to London Stansted from March 18, 2026. It last operated the route in 2009. The move makes Stansted the airline’s sixth UK airport, joining Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

The new route starts with 10 weekly flights, increasing to 14 from March 29, 2026.

This coincides with the airline’s transition to the IATA summer schedule.

Split Schedule Boosts Connectivity

Turkish Airlines uses a split schedule to align with connection waves at Istanbul Airport. Flights depart and arrive at varying times, maximizing global connections through the Istanbul hub.

Cirium Diio data suggests the A321ceo will operate the route, although Turkish Airlines’ website lists the A320ceo. The A321 is more likely due to current aircraft deployment patterns on UK routes.

Turkish Airlines Breaks London Flight Record

With Stansted added, Turkish Airlines will operate up to 14 daily London flights, more than ever before. Previously, the airline never exceeded 11 daily London departures in over two decades.

Combined with British Airways, Wizz Air, AJet, and Pegasus, London-Istanbul will offer up to 27 daily flights. That number could grow depending on final schedules for Sabiha Gökçen operations.

Turkish Airlines’ return complements AJet and Pegasus flights from Stansted to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen. This expansion offers travelers more flexibility and access to both sides of Istanbul.

Turkish Airlines April 2026 UK Frequencies
  • Heathrow: 45 weekly (A330-300, 777-300ER, A321neo)
  • Gatwick: 28 weekly (A321neo, A321ceo, 737 MAX 8, 737-900ER)
  • Stansted: 14 weekly (likely A321ceo)

As demand between the UK and Turkey rises, Turkish Airlines continues expanding capacity and boosting passenger options. Its return to Stansted marks a strategic step in connecting more UK travelers to its global network.
