Spotify Takes Off: United Airlines Adds Music, Podcasts & Audiobooks to Seatback Screens
New partnership brings 450+ hours of entertainment to the skies
130,000+ Seatback Screens, Now with Spotify
United and Spotify have launched a unique inflight partnership across 680+ aircraft.
Passengers can now access Spotify’s playlists, audiobooks, and both video and audio podcasts—completely free.
Many seatback screens offer stunning 4K resolution and Bluetooth compatibility for a seamless listening experience.
First Time for Spotify Content in the Sky
This is the first time Spotify offers audiobooks and video podcasts onboard an airline.
Content includes hit shows like Good Hang with Amy Poehler, The Dave Chang Show, and The Comment Section.
Travelers can explore more than 65 pieces of curated content, with more to come.
A More Personal Experience Coming in 2026
Next year, passengers can log into the Spotify app directly on their seatback screens.
They’ll be able to resume listening from exactly where they left off on their personal devices.
This feature will personalise the experience and extend Spotify’s platform beyond the ground.
Gate-to-Gate Streaming with Starlink
On select aircraft, passengers can stream Spotify gate-to-gate via Starlink Wi-Fi.
Just log in to your MileagePlus account, accept terms, and start streaming with your app.
No interruptions—just music, podcasts, and audiobooks, as if you were at home.
Bonus Miles for Spotify Premium Signups
To celebrate the launch, new Spotify Premium Individual subscribers can earn up to 1,000 MileagePlus miles.
MileagePlus members will see the offer across United channels: inflight screens, the app, and emails.
This collaboration also marks the debut of Kinective MediaSM by United Airlines.
A Sky-High First for Both Brands
“This makes discovering Spotify content simple, exciting, and seamless at 35,000 feet,” said Richard Nunn, CEO of MileagePlus.
“As a United flyer, I’m thrilled to bring Spotify to this global audience,” added Spotify VP Ian Geller.
The sky isn’t the limit—it’s just the beginning.
