Photo Competition
Blue Marine Travel have been running a photo competition throughout 2021 with monthly winners through to November and an overall winner from the previous 11 months winners being chosen for December.
Throughout December our staff have been carefully selecting their favourite photograph and we finally have a grand winner.
It was a very close run competition but we are pleased to announce the overall winner of the 2021 Blue Marine photo competition is Februarys monthly winner, Laurent Kramer!
Way back in February Laurent sent us some truly amazing photos of Lemon shark in South Florida.
Laurent’s chosen charity which initially won a GBP50.00 donation from Blue Marine Travel was Shark Allies and they will now be receiving a GBP500.00 donation. For anyone who wants to see the wonderful work this charity undertakes, please head to SharkAllies.com

With all the travelling that our clients take around the world, we thought that there would be some fantastic photographs that some of you have taken. With this in mind we have set up
The Blue Marine Travel’s Photo Competition 2021.
Each month we will announce a winner from the photographs that we received and they will be displayed on this page and our social media. Winners of each month will receive a £50.00 donation to a charity of their choice and the overall winner of the year will receive a £500.00 donation to a charity of their choice.

Winner – Keegan Moffat
Keegan sent in a picturesque nature scene of Cape Town, South Africa, and his chosen charity is the Global Wildlife Conservation.

Winner – Laurent Kramer
Laurent managed to get a breathtaking picture of a South Florida resident Lemon Shark, he wanted to give his winning donation to Shark Allies

Winner – Leslie Lopez
Leslie had the unique experience to be part of the 36th Americas Cup, that took place in Auckland, New Zealand this year. She managed to get some action shots of the sailing yacht she was on. Her chosen charity is SPCA, Auckland

Keith shared this awe-inspiring sunset photo with us. This was taken in Quepos, Costa Rica on one of his many yachtie adventures. Keith decided to donate his winnings to feeding some hungry paw friends at Animal SOS Sri Lanka

Another magnificent sunrise photo from a yachtie in Carillo, Costa Rica. Thank you Sajad for sharing this photo with us, and your donation will be made to the Department of Wildlife Conservation

Winner – Cherie Clothier
Cherie sent us a heart-stirring photo from port of Nice, “The Old and New”. Borneo Wildlife Preservation will be receiving the funds on behalf of Cherie and her eye for detail.

Winner – Bob Thomas
Bob captured a perfect lazy afternoon in the streets of Mykonos. He said “Streets have always fascinated me during my travels. I love the capturing of people in motion and the fluidity of people who inhabit these far off cities and towns”. WorldVision.org.nz will be the lucky recipient receiving Bob’s winnings.

Winner – Andrea Lastin
Andrea mesmerized us with 2 soul food sunsets, the first one was taken during a crossing and the second one is in Santorini. Andrea decided to make make Pencils of Promise her winning charity after she listened to an interview with the founder. They build schools and promote education in third world countries.
September
Winner – Jeanri Van Der Watt
This month Jeanri indulged us with an array of photo’s from her yachtie days. Jeanri is a well travelled yacht Chef and decided to share a glimpse into her life with us. She chose Coral Gardeners as her charity of choice and we will purchasing a couple corals on her behalf.

Winner – Jessica Charmian
Jessica loves everything yachting has to over and fully embraces the healing energies of the ocean, nature and everything in-between. She shared multiple moments of her yachtie career with us, and decided to donate her winnings to Coral Guardian.
November
Winner – Samantha Morris
Samantha shared theses photos with us from her many years working in the yachting industry. Samantha is a big spokesperson for Mental Health and won this year’s Acrew Purser Award, her chosen charity is the Sailors’ Society.
Sailors’ Society aims to transform the lives of seafarers and their families at home, in port and at sea through the delivery of chaplaincy, education and the relief of poverty and distress.
