Qatar Airways Nears Full Starlink Upgrade Across 777 and A350 Fleets
Qatar Airways is rapidly closing in on a fleet-wide milestone in high-speed connectivity. The airline is just a few aircraft away from completing its Boeing 777 Starlink upgrade. Already, more than 80% of its 777s are flying with the advanced satellite Wi-Fi onboard.
Over 6,000 Flights Already Connected
Since the rollout began, over 6,000 flights have operated with Starlink on the Boeing 777-300ER. Installations are being strategically timed to avoid disrupting flight operations. Passengers have enjoyed high-speed, low-latency internet that supports streaming and real-time connectivity. This marks an industry-first for a widebody fleet of this scale, according to the airline.
A350s Next in Line for Starlink Rollout
In an exciting development, Qatar Airways will now begin outfitting its Airbus A350 fleet with Starlink. This will make it the first airline in the world to equip the A350 aircraft type with the technology. The move marks another bold step in the airline’s push to elevate the passenger experience. With this expansion, more routes and travellers will benefit from fast, reliable in-flight Wi-Fi.
Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said:
“We are just a few aircraft away from completing a full fleet-wide upgrade of our Boeing 777s with Starlink connectivity.” “In April, we will become the first airline in the world to begin equipping the Airbus A350 with Starlink, taking another bold step in our connectivity journey.”
As Qatar Airways continues to lead in innovation, passengers can look forward to a truly connected experience at 30,000 feet.
