Finnair Reclaims Title as Leading European Airline to Japan

Finnair has reclaimed the title of the leading European airline to Japan this summer with its new schedule. The oneworld alliance member now offers 25 weekly flights from Helsinki to Japan, more than any other European carrier. This marks the first time since before the pandemic that Finnair has held this title.

Expanded Service to Japan

Finnair’s summer schedule includes flights to four key destinations in Japan: Tokyo-Haneda, Tokyo-Narita, Osaka, and Nagoya.

  • The airline operates daily flights to both Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita.
  • Finnair has also increased flights to Osaka, now offering daily services, up from five last summer.

This expansion supports Osaka’s upcoming role in hosting World Expo 2025.

Nagoya Becomes Direct Flight Hub

Finnair’s newest route to Nagoya is the only direct flight between Europe and the city. Flights to Nagoya have increased from twice a week to four times weekly this summer. This growth reflects Finnair’s continued commitment to Japan, marking over 40 years of service.

Finnair’s strong presence in Japan offers more than just flights. The airline connects travelers to key destinations in Asia, including Bangkok, Delhi, Doha, Hong Kong, and Singapore. UK travelers benefit from smooth connections through top airports like Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

With 25 weekly flights, Finnair continues to strengthen ties between Europe and Japan, making it a vital connector for both tourism and business.
