Thailand Mandates Digital Entry Form

Thailand Mandates Digital Entry Form on 1 May 2025

From 1 May 2025, Thailand requires all foreign travellers to complete a digital entry form before arriving. All non-Thai nationals must complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering by air, land, or sea. This new system replaces the paper-based TM6 form. Travellers must submit their TDAC online within 72 hours of arrival.

Who Must Complete the TDAC

The TDAC applies to all non-Thai nationals, whether they need a visa or not. Only Thai citizens, border pass holders, and transit passengers bypassing immigration are exempt.

The government introduced the TDAC to streamline border control and cut down on paper use. Once travellers submit the form, they receive a confirmation to show—digitally or on paper—at immigration. The application is free, and officials recommend submitting it as soon as travel plans are finalised.

Travel Industry Backs the New System

Airlines and hotels have already started notifying guests about the change. Officials expect faster processing times and improved crowd management at border checkpoints. Thailand plans to welcome 40 million foreign tourists in 2025, up from 35.5 million in 2024. The TDAC plays a key role in handling this growth smoothly.

Australia Issues Safety Advice for Travellers

Australia urges its citizens to exercise a high degree of caution when visiting Thailand. The warning follows a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which raised concerns over building safety. Travellers should stay alert, check with accommodation providers, and follow local authorities’ advice. Officials also warn of risks such as terrorism, drink spiking, and dangerous road conditions.

Prepare Before You Go

Submit your TDAC early, check your documents, and stay informed about local safety updates. Thailand’s new system promises a smoother, safer experience for all visitors.
