United Airlines is expanding its international network with exciting new routes to Asia and Australia. Beginning this October, United will become the only U.S. airline offering flights to Bangkok, Thailand, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The airline will also introduce the first-ever nonstop service between the U.S. and Adelaide, Australia, launching in December. Additionally, United is increasing service to Manila, Philippines, with a second daily flight from San Francisco. These additions reinforce United’s position as the world’s largest airline with the most extensive Pacific network.
Bangkok, Thailand
Starting October 26, United will launch daily flights to Bangkok via Hong Kong, using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This marks the first time a U.S. airline will offer this route. Bangkok’s mix of ancient tradition and modern vibrancy makes it a top destination. Travelers can visit iconic temples like Wat Arun and Wat Phra Kaew, explore Lumpini Park, and enjoy the city’s famous street food scene. The Srinagarindra Train Night Market is a must-visit for those looking to experience local culture, music, and cuisine.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
On October 26, United will also become the only U.S. airline to offer daily flights to Ho Chi Minh City via Hong Kong. Operated on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, this route provides seamless connections for travelers. Visitors can explore the city’s rich history by touring landmarks like the Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica and the Saigon Opera House. Food lovers can enjoy traditional pho at open-air stalls, while adventure seekers can take a scooter ride through the city’s bustling streets or scenic rice fields.
Adelaide, Australia
United is set to make history with the first nonstop flight between the U.S. and Adelaide, launching on December 11. This seasonal service, operated three times weekly from San Francisco, will fly on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Adelaide is renowned for its world-class wine regions like Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, as well as the stunning landscapes of Kangaroo Island. Food enthusiasts can explore the Adelaide Central Market, home to over 70 local traders offering fresh regional produce.
Manila, Philippines
Starting October 25, United will add a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila, providing both daytime and evening options. United remains the only U.S. airline serving the Philippines, with flights to both Manila and Cebu. Travelers can explore historical landmarks like Fort Santiago and San Agustin Church, shop at the massive Mall of Asia, or take a day trip to Tagaytay to see the breathtaking Taal Volcano. Food lovers can sample local delicacies such as kwek-kwek, turon, and halo-halo from street vendors.
United’s Unmatched Pacific Network
With these new routes, United now offers flights to 32 destinations across the Pacific—four times more than any other U.S. airline. This expansion further cements United’s status as the world’s largest airline with the most extensive international network.
“At United, we’re redefining travel by offering greater access to incredible destinations,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President, Global Network Planning and Alliances. “Whether for business, adventure, or relaxation, our growing network provides customers with more opportunities to explore the world.”
United served over six million passengers in the Pacific region last year, demonstrating its commitment to global connectivity. The airline continues to invest in new routes, ensuring travelers have more options and seamless connections worldwide.
