Emirates has announced the introduction of a third non-stop daily service between Dubai and Melbourne, set to begin on March 30, 2025. This service will be operated using the airline’s newly retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER, featuring four travel classes, including its award-winning Premium Economy and the latest Business Class seats.
Enhanced Connectivity and Upgraded Features
The new flight, EK404/405, will offer customers additional flexibility and connectivity options. EK404 will depart Dubai at 21:15, arriving in Melbourne at 17:40 the following day. The return flight, EK405, will leave Melbourne at 23:55 and arrive in Dubai at 07:00 the next morning.
This addition brings Emirates’ Melbourne services to three daily non-stop flights, providing seamless connections via Dubai to 27 European destinations, including London, Paris, and Frankfurt.
The retrofitted Boeing 777 boasts:
- First Class Suites: Eight private suites.
- Business Class: 40 seats with a 78.6-inch flatbed and aisle access.
- Premium Economy: 24 seats with a 38-inch pitch, wide cream leather upholstery, and recline capabilities for extra comfort.
- Economy Class: 256 seats.
Additional features include personal mini-bars, 23-inch HD screens in Business Class, and a small onboard bar for mid-flight refreshments.
Expanding Australian Operations
Emirates continues to restore its pre-pandemic capacity across Australia, offering 77 weekly flights to five gateways: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. Key updates include:
- Second Perth Service: Launched December 1, 2024, offering nearly 12,000 weekly seats to and from Perth.
- Adelaide Services: Resumed in late October 2024, boosting connectivity for South Australia.
The airline’s comprehensive operations aim to stimulate tourism, economic growth, and business investment across the region.
Commitment to Australia
Operating in Australia for nearly three decades, Emirates has deep ties with the country. Its investments include over $230 million in sponsorships such as the Australian Open, Collingwood Football Club, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, the UAE and Australia recently signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), strengthening trade and investment flows.
Codeshare Partnership with Qantas
The Emirates-Qantas codeshare partnership offers access to over 120 destinations, including 60 across Australia and New Zealand. Over the last decade, the partnership has carried 15 million passengers on more than 543,000 flights.
