Blue Marine Travel Ltd is a privately owned marine travel consultancy based in the UK with IATA accreditation, handling both corporate and marine travel.

Established in 2004, our many years of experience allows us to provide a personalised service to our clients and travellers, delivery efficiency and value.  We spend time with our staff and it shows.

Rachelle Brand

Rachelle is back working with the team after taking a break to look after her new born baby Joseph.

Rachelle has been with Blue Marine Travel since 2006 and has been working in travel for over 19 years and has experience in Retail, Corporate and Marine Travel.

She is married and her and her husband both love to travel. Like every female she loves to shop and enjoys visiting retail outlets at any opportunity.  She also tries to to remain healthy and exercises as often as possible and gets out in the outdoors when weather permits.

Rachelle likes to think she has green fingers and enjoys growing fruit and vegetables on her veg patch in the garden.

When not working Rachelle enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Aden Helmond-Jones

Aden lives with friends in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and has recently joined the Blue Marine Travel team.

He studied photography and media studies at college and after a few years working within this industry he has decided to take the challenge of marine travel.

Coming from a mixed heritage, Aden has always had a passion for seeing the world especially Asia and South America. He loves the Philippines and Thailand for their culture, hospitality and weather.  Recently he has visited Barcelona and Amsterdam and this has given him the incentive to visit more architecturally beautiful European cities on his time off.

In his spare time, Aden likes to keep fit by going to the gym.  He also enjoys playing football and likes to spend as much time outside when the weather is good. He also enjoys listening to music with hip-hop being one of his favourites.

Claire Jebali

She has been working in the Marine Travel Industry of just over 13 years and joined the Blue Marine Travel team in June 2015.

Claire Jebali lives in Hamble on the South Coast with her partner and 3 step Children.

Claire has been working in the Marine Travel Industry of just over 13 years and joined the Blue Marine Travel team in June 2015.

In her spare time she enjoys going to the cinema and theatre. She loves to spend time with her family and also enjoys visiting stately homes and historical castles.

Claire of course loves to travel and has be fortunate to visit some amazing places. Her favourites being Australia and Skianthos.

Darren Cains

Darren Cains has been working in the Marine travel industry for over 15 years dealing with a large range of Offshore and Marine global accounts.

Darren Cains has been working in the Marine travel industry for over 15 years dealing with a large range of Offshore and Marine global accounts. Darren joined Blue Marine Travel in January 2016 and is currently working in the office located in Lowestoft.

Darren lives in a small village just outside Lowestoft on the East coast, he is married with three children who keep him very busy.

In his spare time he love to take the children to the local beach for an ice cream and to play on the sand…weather permitting ! He also love films and can’t wait for the new Star wars film!  He loves to keep on top of the garden and grow new things, he recently obtained an allotment and is in the process of cleaning it up in order to hopefully grow lost of fruit and vegetables.

Tracy Skinner

Tracy started working for Blue marine travel in March 2014 after a 10 years break from corporate travel

Tracy Skinner started working for Blue marine travel in March 2014 after a 10 years break from corporate travel. She lives in Thaxted and is a stone throw from the Blue marine offices.

Having worked in travel for many a years she has seen some wonderful places in the world , Ko Chang, in Thailand being one of her favourites.

Places still on her to do list are Bora, Bora, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Other than travelling Tracy loves going to the Gym, Eating out and spending time with family.

Phil Webster

Phil Webster has been working in the marine industry since 1992 and lives in Portchester on the South Coast of England-

He lives at home with his girlfriend and Eric his Shih-Tzu dog who has perfected the art of failing to retrieve any tennis ball that is thrown…(that’s his dog, not his girlfriend).

He has visited quite a few countries around the world and has been to Las Vegas eight times (and counting) but does insist it’s for the culture and not anything else..

In his spare time he likes nearly all sports but draws the line at Formula 1 as, in his words,  if he wanted to see cars go around in circles he’d go to the roundabout in Swindon.

He supports Arsenal FC and was a season ticket holder for many years but gave it up once he moved to the South Coast (it was just a coincidence that it was around the same time that they hadn’t won the league in years).

‘Tara lives in Palmerston North, New Zealand with her partner and their dog Indy whom they consider their best friend.

Karen Pearl

Karen joined Blue Marine Travel in June 2015 and has worked in the marine travel industry for over 14 years.

She lives in the South of England in Hampshire with her husband, son and daughter.

In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family of nice days out or just playing with her children in the garden. She enjoys traveling and loves to go on family holidays.

Besides traveling, Karen enjoying watching and listening to live music. She enjoys eating out and likes to go out for nice meals on a regular basis.

Her favourite football team is Southampton and when possible she loves to go to the matches to cheer for her team.

Liseth Iglesis

Liseth has been in the travel industry for over 16 years and in the marine travel industry since 2005.

Liseth started in the travel industry as an emergency support/ticketing agent for an afterhours service, a company that served agencies all over the world.

Liseth is bilingual and speaks Spanish fluently, of course as she is a Latina.

She lives in Houston and is a proud mother of two beautiful and smart girls Leyla and Ilany. Her third child is the family dog Coconut who is Chihuahua mix.

Liseth loves working in travel and truly enjoy helping others in any way she can. She enjoys getting to know our clients so that she can be more efficient in all their needs and make the process a little faster for them if she can.

Anna has been working in the travel industry for over twenty years and joined the Blue Marine Travel team in 2006.

Anna lives with her husband in a little village on the outskirts of Colchester. In her spare time you will find Anna and her husband exploring new walks with their 3 dogs, snoop, smudge and Ube.

They also enjoy holidays in the sunshine with South Spain, Canary Islands and the Greek islands being the favourites.

Lee Harris

Lee lives in Lowestoft, Suffolk and has been working for Blue Marine since 2007.

Lee has worked in the travel industry ever since leaving school and has been lucky enough during this time to visit some wonderful places through work, with China being one of his favourites.

Outside of work, Lee’s time is mostly spent with his family, enjoying the Suffolk coast line, the beaches and the copious amounts of Ice Cream, Fish and Chips and Pints of Cider (in no particular order!)

Lee’s other passions are football (Everton supporter for his sins), trying to keep fit at the local gym and enjoying (or should that be enduring) a weekly run with the local running club.

Heather Baker

Heather has been working in the travel industry for over twenty years and joined the Blue Marine Travel team in 2008.

Heather lives close to Stansted airport with her husband and daughter.

In her spare time, Heather likes to cook and like most females spend the day at the shops.

She also enjoys listening to music with Rock, Contemporary and Indie being her favourites, she is stuck in a 90’s time warp! In her spare time Heather helps run the local youth club and enjoys interacting with the children and organising activities for them.

She has family that lives in Singapore so this is a place that she visits on a regular basis and Heather considers this as one of her favourite places to visit.

Ian Foxwell

Ian is no stranger to the travel industry and has been working within it since 1977.

Ian Foxwell is no stranger to the travel industry and has been working within it since 1977. He was mainly involved in business travel however he has specialized in marine travel since 2006.

Ian is married and has one daughter. In his spare time he likes to watch his favourite football team, Queen Park Rangers. He loves to play cricket and also golf, though his cricket is better than his golf. He is also a keen gardener and tries to get out in the garden as much as possible when the British weather permits.

He has a dog which is a Cocker Spaniel and Ian enjoys taking him on long walks on a regular basis.

Of course being in the travel industry, travel is one of his favourite past times and over the years Ian has been fortunate enough to visit many places in the world.

Donna Hutton

Donna Hutton has recently started working for Blue Marine travel.
She is originally from Essex but now lives in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Donna Hutton has recently started working for Blue Marine travel.

She is originally from Essex but has resided in Palmerston North, New Zealand for the past 13 years with her family.

Living in New Zealand has afforded Donna many holidays to the South Pacific, the highlight of which was travelling to the Vava’u islands of Tonga to swim in open water with the Humpback whales and their calves, she found this so amazing that she went back the following year to do it again.

Places still on her to do list are Tahiti and Vietnam.

Apart from enjoying the stunning scenery New Zealand affords her, Donna loves Zumba and spending lazy days at the Beach.

Nikk Slowey

Nikk Slowey joined Blue Marine Travel in January 2016 and is based in our Lowestoft office.

Nikk Slowey joined Blue Marine Travel in January 2016 and is based in our Lowestoft office.  She lives with her husband in Lowestoft and has been working in the world of marine travel for over four years. Prior to this she worked for a small independent high end travel company organising tailor made holidays to places such as Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

In her spare time she enjoys gardening, sewing and listening to live music.  She is also interested in vintage fashion and vintage music. On the weekends you will find her browsing the record stores hoping to find another David Bowie album to add to her collection.  She also enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family who live close by.

She is a keen runner, she hasn’t ran the London Marathon as yet but recently completed her second 10k run.

Lee Baldwin

After leaving school Lee started working as a messenger and trainee agent in London.

After leaving school Lee Baldwin started working as a messenger and trainee agent in London. 10 years later he moved to Houston, Texas and worked as an operations manager for a worldwide travel agency. He moved back to the UK in 2004 and decided to follow his dream of owning his own travel agency. Blue Marine Travel was born and is now one of the leaders in marine travel.

Lee’s hobbies include coaching his Son’s football team and watching his Daughters football team play.

Lee would say that his favourite place on the planet would be anywhere in the Caribbean, with St Thomas being one of his favourites.

Joanne Fairhurst

Jo lives in Poole in Dorset and started working for Blue Marine Travel in January 2014.

Prior to working for Blue Marine Travel, Jo spent many years at sea. Firstly on the Cruise Ships working for P&O cruises and then moving on to the Super Yachts where she worked as a Purser. Jo enjoys traveling and has been fortunate to travel to many places around the world with Antarctica probably being the most amazing place she has visited and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef coming a close second.

When she is not working, Jo has a few hobbies, she likes to cook for friends and play her favourite sport of tennis. When she can get a ticket you will find her at Wimbledon supporting her favourite tennis stars.

Sophie Baldwin

Sophie has worked in the marine travel industry for over 28 years with the majority of that time spent in accounting and office management.

Sophie Baldwin has worked in the marine travel industry for over 28 years with the majority of that time spent in accounting and office management.

She loves her work and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Having studied art from an early age, she enjoys being creative in any form from making pottery to DIY and finding solutions to practical problems. Other hobbies are reading, watching movies and watching any sport, in particular she enjoys being a supportive mum to her 2 children from the side-lines.

Having travelled extensively over the years and lived outside the UK for seven years in various locations, Sophie’s favourite place is having family time anywhere in the world.

Ossie Esterhuizen

Oswald (Ossie) Esterhuizen has been working at Blue Marine Travel since March 2006.

Oswald (Ossie) Esterhuizen has been working at Blue Marine Travel since March 2006.

Originally from a Military background he served 15 years in the South African Navy as a Lieutenant Commander (Finance Officer) in charge of the Submarine Flotilla’s Budget and Finances.

Since moving to the UK in January 1999 he has worked as a “Bean Counter” within an accounting practice as well catering, manufacturing and media sectors.

Ossie lives in Thaxted, Essex and is a stone throw away from the office.

When not spending time with his two children he can be found on the golf course.
He enjoys sport, any sport, but has a passion for rugby, triathlons and golf.
Ossie is a has been now but in his youth represented his country of birth (South Africa) at the World Triathlon Championships and also represented his county (Western Province) in duathlon, rugby and athletics (800m).

Ossie’s favourite seasons are Spring and Summer and when he retires from Blue Marine Travel you’ll find him following the sun.

Gaynor Gordon

Gaynor has been a member of the Blue Marine Finance team for almost 3 years now and is loving every minute of it.

Gaynor has been a member of the Blue Marine Finance team for almost 3 years now and is loving every minute of it. Having little previous finance experience, Gaynor initially found this role challenging but equally as rewarding.

Before joining Blue Marine Travel Gaynor worked for a Scottish based furniture manufacturer selling high quality office furniture to major corporate clients across the UK. Gaynor enjoyed this role, however in 2006 was fortunate enough to take a seven year career break to play Mum to her two beautiful children, Oscar, age 9 and Alexandra, 7.

When Gaynor is not busy playing Mum, she loves to run and go for long walks in Thaxted, the idyllic village where she lives. She also loves to travel, with her recent fly/drive to California being her favourite adventure to date.

Hannah Wise

Hannah lives in Debden (a small village not far from Blue Marine Travel) and joined the accounting team in September 2014.

A psychology graduate from the University of Plymouth, Hannah started her career in human resources – working with the consultants at Accenture UK. After a number of years she decided to pursue her interest in child development and gained P.G.C.E. at the University of Hertfordshire.

Travel is in her blood and New Zealand beckoned so she and her husband moved to Auckland and started a family.

Since returning to the UK, Hannah has focused on her children and used her knowledge to help at a charity working with mothers who need support. She has also started her own crafting business which means you will often find her selling her creations at crafts markets at weekends. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, socialising with friends and spending time with her family.

Kerry Williams

Kerry joined the Blue Marine finance department in September 2013 and has enjoyed every minute.

Prior to Blue Marine she spent 23 years working in retail, starting on the shop floor and progressing to the role of Area manager.

Early in her career she was fortunate enough to be granted 4 months leave to backpack around America with a large group of friends, a trip which remains one her best life experiences to date.

She continued her retail career on a part-time basis whilst starting a family.

She lives in the beautiful town of Thaxted with her husband and 2 young daughters Madeleine and Rose.

In her spare time she enjoys walking, painting and cooking for a house full of family and friends.

Sophie Marie Augrandjean-Yiannakou

Sophie has over 20 years of experience and has been working at Blue Marine Travel for the last 10 years

Sophie left her native Burgundy in France twenty-five years ago to come to live in England and help language teachers in schools. She realised teaching wasn’t her vocation and decided to turn to the travel industry instead, which she enjoys a lot more.

She now has over 20 years of experience and has been working at Blue Marine Travel for the last 10 years, where she helps overlooking and checking all aspects of the reservations/ticketing/contracts departments.

She tries to discover new places as much as possible when going on holidays.

She likes swimming to keep fit, and loves music and going to gigs.

She is passionate about animals and shares her house with her husband and 4 cats, she also dedicates some of her spare time to help as a volunteer in a local cat shelter.

Heather Smith

Heather joined Blue Marine Travel January 2016 as a financial assistant, returning to work after a 3 year early retirement break.

Heather joined Blue Marine Travel January 2016 as a financial assistant, returning to work after a 3 year early retirement break.

Heather worked as a finance manager for Marks and Spencer for 12 years before moving to the United States with her husband. Here she worked in Human Resources as a Training and Development Manager for Pitney Bowes Corporation.

After having 2 boys (now aged 22 and 19) they returned to the UK and Heather worked in the local primary and secondary school as a curriculum support assistant.

Her interests include baking, gardening, badminton, walking and of course travelling.

Evelina Grigauskaite

Evelina has recently joined Blue Marine Travel in October 2015 and is fairly new to the travel industry.

Evelina has recently joined Blue Marine Travel in October 2015 and is fairly new to the travel industry. She completed a 3 year BTEC course in Travel and Tourism in 2012 and now definitely sees herself staying in the travel industry for some time.
Traveling has always been a big passion, but not only laying on the beach or by the pool, but exploring and seeing places.
She also enjoys listening to music, going for long walks, visiting galleries and museums.
Her motto is “Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life” and that is exactly what she is doing at the moment since joining the Blue Marine Team.
