Dubai Airports CEO Announces Phase Two Expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, revealed the commencement of phase two expansion at Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), with a substantial AED128 billion investment.

This initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to cutting-edge aviation infrastructure, reinforcing its global aviation hub status. While Dubai International Airport (DXB) remains the primary hub, the expansion will accommodate over 260 million passengers, boasting five times the capacity of DXB.

Plans include constructing new passenger terminals, 400 aircraft gates, and transitioning operations gradually from DXB to DWC. Collaboration with stakeholders, airlines, and government authorities will drive the project to fruition, promising a seamless and superior travel experience in the 21st century.
